Ron Johnson attended Helix High School located in La Mesa CA, (San Diego County). Johnson Led the Helix Highlanders to a 25-5 record and to the championship game of the CIF San Diego sections Division 1 play-offs. Johnson led Helix in scoring averaging 17 points per game 5.1 rebounds and 7.2 to assist and was named to the Grossmont South Player of the Year. He was also named First Team All-County by the San Diego Union Tribune, after scoring double digits in 27 of 30 games. Helix was 48-11 over his last two seasons as a Highlander and 64-23 during his 3years as the starting point guard.

He went on to play collegiately at California State Long Beach where he was a four year letterman and a 3yr starter, leading his team to a 24-6 record during his sophomore year and a bid to the NIT. Ron continued to improve his game each year as a 49er. Being known as a fearless defender he lead the conference in steals with 69 in a single season leaving Long Beach State on the top ten all-time list in steals. He was awarded the inaugural “Big West” best hustle award for his tenacious defense which left his opponents shaken. Although known as a tenacious defender Ron continued to improve his offensive skills year to year increasing his scoring from 3.3ppg as a freshman to 13pts as a senior which he contributes to hard work and perseverance. With a work ethic second to none, Ron after leaving Long Beach St. enjoyed a 10 year professional playing career which landed him stints in both NBA sanctioned summer pro leagues, the NBA D-league as well as Europe. Ron was able to spend most of his professional years playing abroad in countries such as China, Israel, Turkey, Poland, Mexico, and Belgium. Ron experienced success as a professional basketball player leading his team to the final four, and his best statistical season averaged 19pts 4reb 4asst, and 2 stls per game.

After completing his professional career in 2011, Ron decided to share his experiences learned from competing at high levels of basketball through personal training. It is his belief that basketball is a game to be enjoyed by all sizes, ages and abilities. It is Ron’s goal to provide his participants not only with fundamentals but skills that will increase their chances of success in daily living. Ron Johnson is energetic, and dedicated to improving his client’s abilities, believing that with hard work anyone can improve their game.
